Provisions against Potential Natural Disasters
Countermeasures against Natural Hazards, such as Volcano, Tornado and Forest Fire
In order to prevent simultaneous loss of functionality of safety important components due to natural phenomena, we have taken protective measures by assuming natural disasters of a significantly greater level of severity than conventional assumptions.
Protection against External Fire
We are creating a 18m wide firebreak zone by cutting down trees in the periphery of the site area to prevent the equipment from being damaged by a forest fire occurring in the vicinity of the power station.
Protection against Flying Objects from Tornados
We have installed tornado protection for seawater pumps on an assumption that steel objects would fly over the pumps in case of a tornado with a wind speed of 100m/sec.
