Computational Material Science

We are striving to elucidate the mechanisms of phenomena that occur in materials in the fields of battery technology, catalytic chemistry, and solution chemistry, using techniques of computational science based on quantum theory.

Materials Research for Electrochemical Devices

We focus on materials used for electrochemical devices including secondary batteries and fuel cells that will be used for energy storage and generation on a large scale in the near future. To select the most suitable devices for the energy use, we are conducting comprehensive research on electrode active materials and solid electrolytes from synthesis of material particles, characterization with various analytical techniques to charge-discharge evaluation of the test cells.
