About fuel
- How are resources such as LNG, crude oil, and coal delivered to Kansai area ?
[LNG]
Gaseous state natural gas is first liquefied in resource producing countries. Liquefied natural gas(LNG) is transported by LNG tanker to LNG receiving terminal located in Himeji and Sakai. After accepted by terminal, LNG is sent to power plant through the pipe line.[crude oil]
Crude oil is first transported by ocean-going tankers from oil producing countries to domestic oil tank, and then oils are delivered to each power plant. In case of heavy fuel oil and other petroleum products, refining is needed before delivering.[coal]
Coal is directly delivered to terminal in Kyoto by ocean-going tanker from producing countries.
