Focused expertise to convert fuel to woody biomass

Breathing new life into power plants—proposing plans for power plant revival and supporting repowering work

Aioi Power Station has been providing power to nearby customers since it began operations in 1982.

Unit 2 at Aioi Power Station converted its fuel source from heavy oil and crude oil to woody biomass, a renewable source of energy.

There are various obstacles that must be overcome in order to convert fuel sources. While facilities must be renewed to ensure steady operation with a new source of fuel, there must also be consideration for and thorough execution of business feasibility assessments, contractual agreements, license and permit applications, construction management, and more.

K-VaCS supported this fuel conversion at Aioi Power Station and offered solutions to these very problems.

We have an extensive track record in fuel conversion projects and the development of new power plants. Using our accumulated experience and expertise, from a power provider’s perspective we can keep construction and running costs to a minimum, and ensure truly beneficial facility upgrades.

What we do

  • Study business feasibility, conclude project-related contracts, apply for permits and licenses, and provide construction management, etc.
  • Offer location-specific proposals for optimal facility structure to minimize operating costs
